You don’t have to be bananas to make great games, although it certainly helps! In 2018, we continue to evolve here at Bananagrams, Inc., bringing you new family favorite table-top games. At our core, we strive to produce games with extraordinary packaging, super simple rules, and high quality, tactile components that you won’t want to put down. This year we celebrate 13 years of our global phenomenon BANANAGRAMS, played by millions worldwide in over 30 countries and in 16 different languages. We’re not just bananas, we’re also crazy about our new and fresh games that can be enjoyed by anybody; no matter their age or expertise.
What’s the unique tactile element? Most of our games don’t have simple card and board; we love tiles and unique materials.
How could packaging set it apart? Packaging considerations help us imagine what it could be. How might packaging intertwine with product?
Does it have elegant simplicity? We don’t love a ton of fiddly bits, fussy scoring, overly complicated rules.
What makes it feel like a quality experience? For us it’s not as much about mechanisms or electronic parts, but a specialty look and feel.
Who is it for? Our main focus is casual feeling games that appeal broadly to families and multi generational play. We may do party or kid or preschool games, but our preferred play is for a wide age range.

Seven Towns - Wish ListSeven Towns has a long and proud history of working with and representing independent inventors. We have helped bring some very successful products to market on behalf of independent inventors such as Boglins, Do Nutters, Splashy the Whale and The Rubik’s Cube to name a few. We are very aware great ideas can come from anyone but translating those ideas into commercially viable products and successfully licensing them to Toy companies can be fraught with hurdles to overcome. That’s where we can help.
Our business model is based on licensing inventions on a royalty basis to toy and game manufactures worldwide. For that to be successful we need to achieve high volume sales. Therefore what we’re looking for is anything with the WOW factor and has the potential for mass market appeal. Highly promotable ‘hooks’ are what draw consumers to products, that can be a physical feature but it may also be the visual experience or ‘of the moment’ trend. We work in all areas of toys and games and along with fully formed concepts we’re keen to see clever widgets, gadgets, technologies, compounds and processes. So if you have something cool but think it could be applied another way we can help develop it to brands and opportunities we know it might fit. With 50 years in the toy industry we have direct contact with most of the mass market toy and game companies worldwide who we meet on a regular basis. Our team of designers, engineers, licensing and legal specialists can help tailor your concept to make the perfect pitch to dozens of potential licensees.

Rubik's - Wish List• Rubik’s emphasis is looking for the next Rubik’s Cube and always open to new twisty puzzles and brainteasers.
• We also are always happy to see table top Rubik’s games (like our classic Race) – not card games at this time.
• Junior is a focus for us so any Rubik’s themed ideas designed for a younger audience 4-7years (not pre-school).

Ideas that offer some sort of educational aspect. Whatever that might be.
For example: Learn your ABCs Talking Sesame Street Elmo.
Maybe you look at STEM education or STEAM education.
Arts and Craft - Science / Techology You only need to switch on your TV's to realise just how popular science is becoming. For example late night talk shows, particularly in america, have started having there own resident Scientist appear as regular slots in there show. For exam ple The late late show with James Cordon, The Jimmy Fallon show to name just a few.
So how can we incorporate science into our franchises to make it fun and exciting for kids
E.G: Electric Conductive Paint. or 3D pens you can do at home.
Arts and crafts - Eco-Science
Along side Science how do we make it eco-friendly? This is another trend we feel strongly is only going to continue through into 2019.
For example: Nintendo Labo are already incorporating Science and Recycleables into an whole new brand.
Stationery, Arts and Crafts - Create Your Own
Model Making, Painting your own scenes, Sew your own characters are just a few examples of the Create your own trend.
So how can we move this trend on to make it Novel and different to what Sambro have done before.
For example: If you take the "Bandai Star wars Gashapon" as a starting point this could easily be a buildable Stationery set.
Arts and crafts - Subscription services / Series pack buys
Series Buys are a great way to get repeat custom. Ideas on around this would be great.
For example: Frozen Build your own Castle. Series one could get you a set of felt tips and the first part of the castle, The second series could get you stickers and the next part of the castle. etc etc.
AR - Augmented Reality
Ideas around how we can incorporate AR would be great - Whether into an existing product or a new product.
But keeping the idea realistic and the rrp competitive.
For example: Colouring sheets that "Come to life" once seen through the App.
VR - Virtual Reality
Ideas around how we can incorporate VR would be great - Whether into an existing product or a new product.
But keeping the idea realistic and the rrp competitive.
For example: Take your favourite plush character and through VR your plush toy looks to have goone through an x-ray and the VR app allows you to study the skeleton - So already we are incorporating Educational and VR in one product.
A bit of a wild card. We are starting to see a few styleguides picking up on the Retro theme.
Ideas around this would be great - For example: Could we bring back and use as inpsiration old school retro toys?
Driven by the government we have seen a whole host of companies actually act on this and change the way they make or operate in order to reduce there carbon footpint.
One brand that comes to mind is Lego. All of the firm's botanical pieces will now be made out of a biopolymer plastic made from sustainably harvested sugarcane.
How do we reduce our carbon footprint and become eco-friendly but in such away that doesn't compromise on the products percieved value.
e.g: Our box packaging to be part of the overall product somehow, Either all of it or parts of it.

Constantly in search of new ideas and innovations, Spin Master has a dedicated Inventor Relations team focused on scouring the globe for innovation and looks forward to meeting you at Mojo Pitch 2018.
Activities, Crafts, Compounds & Stationery
This is where new experiences and demoing well on social are are key. Here we're looking for u nique chemistries that lend themselves to open ended creative play which let you build a world of end results from a single piec e, process or compound . Sometimes it's r e-interpreting existing compounds or discovering new ones, like Kinetic Sand, that have unique properties for a compelling experiences, or a material innovation such Bunch'ems that lets you build a world from a single piece. It could even be an innovation on s olving a previous problem (e.g., mess-free, quick drying/curing, chemical/ s afety ). A great opportunity for inventors is in our Cool Maker line where traditional craft activities are updated with an own-able innovative machine or chemistry that allows girls 6-8 years old to be Cool Makers with minimal parental setup and supervision and end results that are fashion forward and on trend.
Robotics & Tech
Calling all tinkerers, builders, coders and engineers of all walks to push the boundaries of AI animatronics and bring to life robotics with clever mechanisms and interesting uses of motors to deliver all new play experiences. We're looking for unique movement at low price points, all the way to single or multi-motor fully robotic characters that deliver on familiar play patterns with dynamic movement and unexpected surprises. What application of new technologies can allow us to have more expressive features in robotics, immersive interactions, or even a digital component that is integral to the play.
There’s a bit of hesitancy to develop flying toys and R/C, but we really want to stress how robust our tech platforms are now. Aerodynamic fine-tuning is no longer the massive hassle it once was. Our Atmosphere, Quad, Zero-G and Heli platforms can lift significant amounts of weight, so they are perfect for kit-bashing. However, we’d recommend staying away from “pure drone” or “pure heli” items that only have a basic added-on feature as we have tons of internal development in those areas. We’ve covered the most obvious stuff like sky cranes, missiles, disc-shooters, parachutes, water shooting. But, we’d love to see creative applications of AI and tech to existing platforms to make flying easier and smarter. The holy grail would be the next Vectron or Wall Climber type of platform for a totally unexpected flying experience.
What's the next girls phenomenon? This could be innovative takes on traditional small doll themes with fun interpretations of core play patterns; unique plays on the collectible unboxing experience that builds anticipation, excitement and surprise with a WOW that's so compelling you'll want to repeat it again and again; new takes on Fashion Dolls that embodies what girls today are wishing to express themselves with - combining innovative themes, stories, looks and features that will capture girls' hearts and imaginations. Beyond that, there's a long history of Girls tech toys that have seen tremendous success. What new technologies are available for girls to interact with and play out familiar play patterns new and compelling ways (Fijit, Tamagotchi and Pixel Chix are great examples of past success in the aisle).
What's the next trend for Boys that's going to take the aisle by storm? If it's a collectible, it's got to have an inherent fiddle factor that boys simply won't want to put it down, and that it lends itself to game play which gets deeper and more intricate the further you amass your collection. Here we want to see themes that resonate with boys that trends with pop culture (zombies, monsters, 'grossology'), and technologies that bridge the physical to the digital where the physical component is integral to the digital play. What unique materials and form factors could lend itself well to a collectible and it's gameplay beyond a themed slug figure, that has an unboxing experience that's just for boys.
Here we'd love to see ways to extend Paw Patrol's core play patterns of mission and rescue that bring the excitement of the show onto the living room floor. Interesting mechanisms to get the pup ready for action, as well as vehicle enhancements with cool new ways to shoot discs, or features that bring rescue to a whole new level of fun, as well as transforming to ultimate rescue vehicles while still maintaining the iconic look. Best to steer clear of mech-suit or robotic themes in these transformations. Beyond Paw, we'd be interested in seeing entirely new promotional Preschool platforms focusing on interactivity, AI (or the illusion of AI), and innovations on the classics toys for toddlers.
Outdoor & Pool
In the pool, how can we the increase performance, comfort and coverage of our pool floats with new materials and new configurations, with quick ways to inflate and get in the water, then pack up and carry. New takes on novelty floats with a feature innovation beyond just look, something that will surprise consumers once they get on it, that's Instagram-worthy. Outdoors, this could be a new type of "throw-able" that goes farther, faster with increase air uptime that kids of all ages can achieve.
